Everyone talks about Jones...but Walter Fletcher is just 55 yards behind Jones for the PSAC rushing lead.

Should be interesting to see how the schedule plays out. Gannon has Mercyhurst, Slippery Rock, and Lock Haven. While Edinboro has Clarion, IUP, and Kutztown (or Bloomsburg if KU and Rock make the State Game).

Guarantee he is shut down by IUP and Clarion

173 yards and 2 TDs isn't necessarily "never even been close to a factor". I'm not saying he ran you over either.

BTW, you're damning the Cal defense with faint praise of Jones. Edinboro is a much more balanced offense than Gannon so Cal's coaching staff knew they had to plan to defend against the run yet Jones still put 276 on them this year.

Fletcher had 78 all purpose yards against Cal this year

Yep and 95 last year. You said never. That includes seasons before this one.

Clarion run defense did not look so good last week. Fletcher will have a field day. In addition, Clarion lost their best defensive player when Weibel was calling timeouts as THE ROCK were trying to run out clock.

Clarion lost two key lineman near the end of the IUP game the week prior. Not sure if they came back or not but both had to be helped off the field.

Fletcher has never been a factor against Cal. Not once did anyone think his play has made an impact against Cal. 95 and 66 yards rushing are pedestrian numbers. And that 95 was a couple chunk runs the rest of the game he was on his back.

That was a bonehead timeout by Weibel and you are correct about Fletcher ,he will run all over them. The D starting to wear down due to lack of offence.

Fletcher is 55 yards behind Jones but also has 28 less carries. That's the equivalent of a game.

At first I was thinking that Jones' numbers were more impressive since he missed the second half against West Chester and the first half against Kutztown. But you make a good point that he has played one less game but has game's worth more carries. 6.3 yards/carry for Fletcher to 5.7 yards/carry for Jones. Jones had big games against the weaker rushing defenses of Seton Hill - 9.4 yards/carry - and Cal - 7.3 yards/carry.

When Jimmy Keefe (GU QB) went down ... Jones became the whole offense. Lots of touches.
