A total of 15 of the 23 newcomers were recruited to play on the offensive side of the ball while seven are slated to be on defense.

Anyone able to give an assessment on this class and how they look going forward?

I can say it is the smallest class I have even seen from Bloom. Looks like a lot of players who were recruited by D3 and some D2 schools. No steals from bigger schools. It's good they went after receivers, and some may get some time as freshmen. Surprised they only got 1 linebacker, although they have an offer out on a JUCO. They will probably add a few more recruits before the season, but I think it is one of Bloom's weaker classes overall. Anyway, most of them will likely redshirt, 10 will graduate as football players in 5 years, and the rest will fade away. It is what Bloom can afford now, and it will come down to how much fire in the belly each player has and coaching to see if they help the program. That is my assessment.

Needed speed and OL, i think they got enough of both. didn't steal anyone away, but got enough good talent for a first class.

Good assessment bloom 14..... I believe when players start seeing what Coach Sheptock can and will accomplish there will be plenty of interest in joining the Huskie nation.

No recruit from Central Dauphin or Harrisburg. That's sad.

Still no updated coaching staff. Which probably impacted recruiting as well.

Website hasn't been updated since Coach Sheptock was hired in December.

I don't expect any changes in the coaching staff. Sheptock was part of this staff a couple of years ago, and probably isn't going to backstab anyone. Checking coaches twitter pages. they continue to call themselves Bloom coaches.

Won't be any changes, but there should have been on the offensive side IMO

Bloomsburg University will hold a Coaches Caravan

"The first event will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. as the Coaches Caravan heads to Philadelphia and SOMOSoPhi Restaurant, owned by former Bloomsburg University football standout and Super Bowl Champion, Jahri Evans '07. Fans, alums, and friends of the Huskies will have an opportunity to meet and talk with many of the Bloomsburg University athletic coaches and learn about the impact of Steph Pettit's '89 recent $10 million donation and what it means for the future of the department. "

If Bloom recruited and signed 3 players from the Schuylkill league including a Tamaqua player and 2 Jim Thorpe players, how come they didn't sign the best player in the league which was easily Nate Boyle from Tamaqua, his film is unreal, sure he's not very big maybe 5foot8, 180 lbs but the kids a player, you can put the kid anywhere and he will excel. Boyle is undersized for d2 for sure but so is the DL from Tamaqua Bronson Strouse, his listed size 61 255 is pushing it greatly, nothing against him, he's a great kid and played well, but Boyle has clearly a Bigger upside because he could play multiple positions, The coaches obviously visited Jim Thorpe and Tamaqua why the heck did not push and sign Boyle.

Agree with the sentiment on Boyle but are we sure BU ignored him?
