Re: OT: EWL Merging with MAC

Wrestling is still thriving in rural communities - and the higher likelihood that rural kids are Pell eligible helps supplement the scholarship numbers. Similar to focusing on rural and city kids for football and basketball.

The new coach was an assistant at Kent State but is a Boro alum. They are rebuilding. Clarion is rebuilding but got hit with a rash of injuries this year. The Bloom program has been struggling and there has been speculation that they would drop to D2 (fair to say, Bart?).
The Bloom AD answered that question?

Another championship March 9 is the now-final Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) Championship. Bloomsburg enters the event looking for place winners and NCAA qualifiers. Additionally, we are extremely excited about the FUTURE of the program. A lot of discussion continues to swirl, incorrectly, about the status of the program. With the announcement on March 5, that should quiet the critics to show we are committed to Division I wrestling at Bloomsburg.
