When Aaron Rodgers to the Steelers was a pipe dream, I hated the idea. Now it’s a real possibility and I want it so badly. It would be glorious. But none of this 10-7 or 9-8 nonsense. I want a full ARod renaissance and a great season or a complete descent into the abyss.

Two cancer WRs matched with a cancer QB.

What could go wrong?

I don’t think the Steelers would seriously consider signing him given his odd (being polite) past, and present frankly. Not to mention, Rodgers isn’t nearly the QB he was and it’s not like the Steelers have a lot of good targets to help him out. I think they’re going to roll with Fields next season and possibly look to draft a QB the following year when the draft is in Pittsburgh.

Your comments about the franchise being stale are spot on. As I’m hearing people increasingly say, this is the worst time in the Pittsburgh sports scene since the 80’s. The Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins aren’t close to anything meaningful. Two of the three are just bad right now and while the Steelers made the playoffs…um, yeah. Pitt basketball and football are both average to down right now as well. Pitt volleyball was awesome, but couldn’t finish the job. Obviously Penn State had a great year in football and won national titles in volleyball and wresting (again), but State College isn’t any more the Pittsburgh market than it is the Philly market.

Fields would be better. He could have a Darnold like year not having to share the stage.

However the Eagles are proving your lines are the most important part of success. Allen and Burrow are good but they come up short because their one or both of their lines are not dominant. Although the Bungles were coming on strong at the end. They are my team to watch for next year in the AFC.

This isn't a good QB draft (per the pundits). So, retread is the theme in the Yinzerlands for 2025. The following draft (QB class) projects to be much stronger.

They may take a flier on a QB in this draft but nobody beyond a 'project' type.

That franchise is just very stale from my vantage point.

The front office is stale.

The coaching staff is stale.

Hell...the fight song is stale. That Here We Go Song is low energy. Fly Eagles Fly may be annoying to those outside of Philly but it's peppy and catchy and the EAGLES chant at the end is a perfect ending.

The Yinzers are one of maybe two AFC fanbases that could prevent the Iggles fans from overtaking the Super Bowl venue. The Mass holes couldn't stop it and neither could the weak ass "Chefs Kingdom". The only other one would be the Bills Mafia...only because they are just so amped to win something (just not against Philadelphia). A Iggles/Stillers Super Bowl would be epic and probably would be halfsies in the stands.....although Iggles fans will sell their kids to pay for Super Bowl tickets.

We didn't know it at the time...but the Super Bowl was over at the team introductions...Jon Hamm's squeaky voice cracks sealed the Chefs/Refs doomed fate and Bradley Cooper and Declan knocked it out of the park......

How are they contract-wise?

After SB wins, a lot of dudes want to 'get theirs' ... which ultimately usually breaks up these teams.

Are most of these guys locked up for a couple more years?

The Eagles are a fantastic team and are built very well. Pound for pound and belief for belief, the Steelers and Eagles are similar, but the methodology is vastly different. So too are the results.

Both believe in having a strong defense that can rush the passer.... Philly has a ton of guys who schematically work together. A ton of them are between their 1st and 4th year in the league and are mid round picks. The Steelers want "splash" on that side of the ball and pay big names. But they lack elsewhere, believing that the elite skill of a few will make up for the plug and play nature of the others.

Both want a strong offensive line... Philly's approach has been to get maulers who can play multiple positions. Their 3 interior linemen can all play any of the three positions, and did for them this year. The Steelers are also investing early picks into the OL and drafting high grade guys, but they are hell bent on playing guys in the position they want them to play, not where they best fit. It's hurt development. And they aren't drafting OL (typically) who have a lot of versatility, having played multiple OL spots in college.

Both clearly want to run the ball.... The Steelers believe in a traditional approach with a traditional type of back. That works if the OL is nasty (theirs is not). Philly utilizes tempo and different sets where they can spread the field, but still play a physical inside game on the ground. They also want more modern, multi-faceted types of backs. Barkley is 1 of 1, obviously. But even a guy like Gainwell is better suited for their offense than a guy like Warren is suited for the Steelers.

Both want to utilize tight ends in their offense... Philly lines up Goedert and Calcaterra inside, in the slot, and as receivers. The multiple uses, often combined with their rushing attack, disguises what they intend to do on offense. Too many Steeler fans are too busy yelling "MUTH" to see that he is average at best and hardly used in their offense whatsoever. There's two dozen Pat Friermuth's in the NFL. Philly has found creative ways to involve that position in their offense while staying true to what they want to do.

I really credit the Eagles for how they've approached the game and committed to their philosophy. They clearly want to run and play physical football. But they've really put a modern and innovative twist onto that style of play and method of operation. It's really neat to watch.

They also have the best offensive line coach by far in the league.
