New PSAC Head of Officials?

Long time lurker - first time poster.

A friend in the PGH area told me that the PSAC has moved away from their long time football officiating group to align with former NFL ref Gene Steratore, who apparently manages the Mountain East and GMAC already.

Will certainly be interesting to see if the quality of officiating goes up with a former NFL guy leading the way.

News to me, but its been a while since I perused the PSAC meeting minutes. I think having a professional referee overseeing selection, training, and oversight is a good thing. The challenge will remain to be supply of quality zebras. This is one of those jobs that for decades was done by those middle aged men who always had 2 or 3 jobs for extra money that young guys rarely do.

How does someone become a PSAC official? Just wondering about the process.
