Welcome to the 2022 Iteration of CIAA Pick'ems. It was a wild and crazy 2021 that ended with Bowie State making it to the National Quarterfinals. I can assure you this year will be even more exciting after all the movement that has happened during the offseason.

Tiebreakers are broken via the number of games one has participated in over the course of the season. This system is done to keep individuals engaged in Pick'ems all year long.

Thursday, September 1

St Augustine's at Tusculum (SAC) - St Augs has a long way to go to get back to being a winning program, so I don't have hopes for them here.
JCSU at Bluefield State (DII Independent) - The "other BSU" actually beat JCSU last year, but Flowers being at JCSU has me as seeing a ray of hope. I'll be a believer at least for one game.
Barton (SAC) at Chowan - Chowan likes to schedule newish programs and they usually win the first meeting (West Florida and AB). Really a tossup here but I will go with history on this one.
Virginia-Lynchburg (USCAA) at Virginia Union - No way VUU loses this game, I just hope it doesn't end with a fight because both schools have been known to clear the benches.

Saturday

Wingate (SAC) at Shaw - Shaw should make this one a tough game but I just don't see them getting the W.
New Haven (NE10) at Bowie State - Bowie has been great the last few years, but they have a history of starting off sluggish. Add in all the offseason changes and I think New Haven will be too much.
Lincoln PA at Delaware St (FCS MEAC) - Collect your check and stay healthy Lincoln.
Catawba (SAC) at Livingstone - I get that this is supposed to be a "rivalry", but I think LC would have stood a better chance against a gutted Savannah State team instead of flipping to this game.
Virginia State at Lenoir-Rhyne (SAC) - I feel like VSU is about to be back as a top CIAA North team, but this is a tough first game draw. Hopefully they can keep it respectable.
UNC-Pembroke (MEC) at Fayetteville State - I don't care how good FSU has been recently. I have to go with history on this one, and UNCP is 8-0 against FSU.
Elizabeth City State at Benedict (SIAC) - Tossup game for me, but I will go with the home team in the SC humidity.

Winston-Salem State at Central State (SIAC) - at Canton, OH - Central State is not a good team. We would have to beat ourselves to lose this game.
