  • Virginia Union vs Lenoir-Rhyne: 2nd round SR 2024 playoffs

Going to assume this game will be at LR since VUU was the 7 seed for all intents purposes. Can the Panthers get another win? How do they match up against LR?

Oh okay. I didn't realize. Another reason why I dislike the D2 committee moving to this "unseeded teams" model. It's not instantly recognizable who host who incase both "seeded" teams lose in their part of the bracket.

That is incorrect I believe CN was the 5th seed and Va Union 7 seed and will be at LR. 3-6 4-5 2-7. Then 1-4 6-7.

No way VaUnion went from a 9 to a 5 seed unless there is some manipulation going on.

This should be a good game!

Wingate beat LR in a close game, and Virginia Union beat Wingate in a close game.

              FINAL SCORE: Virginia Union 44, Lenoir-Rhyne 12

I thought any scenario where VUU won this game would result in the final score being close. Like 3 to 7 point margin close. Union was in firm control throughout most of the game. Who legit thought VUU would (or even could) beat LR by 32 points?

SAC will want nothing to do with HBCUs after this year’s playoffs! Great win for VUU.

Congratulations to Union. I thought they had a chance, but couldn't have predicted this big of an outcome.

Great game by VUU. Haven’t seen Byers in person since we played away in Richmond several years ago. He is the real deal and we’ll be cheering for VUU the rest of the way.

I’m not surprised the score went the way it did. We were so battered heading into this one. The offensive explosion in the UWA game was shocking to say the least, we regressed to the mean in a serious way today.

This time of year, pretty much all teams have battered up and injured players (including VUU).

                        Congratulations Virginia Union, well done.

Union laid it on us, but with JCSU and VA State figuring out a way to beat them, I just wasn't sure. The years that WSSU and Bowie went far our respective teams were the cream of the crop in the conference. I just wasn't sure how this Union team would show up in the playoffs. But today was the best overall play I feel I've seen of them all season.
