So, at this point, from the CIAA list, 101 players haven't been picked up by anyone (not even other D2 or D3 teams). That grass didn't turn out to be greener for a lot of players. IMO if I was a coach, I would think twice about reinstating players who were more than willing to jump ship so easily.

I think some of the players on the list are top tier conference players who are trying to decide where to go (or have not announced). The list will get whittled down more but some players may be done with college football.

I think coaches know its a new environment. A few years ago, Shepherd's QB Tyson Bagent tested the water, and he told his HC first from what I understand. He didnt get the offer he wanted, and he ended up staying at Shepherd. Its probably all in how the player approached the situation.

Not a player, but VUU's OC "jumped into the transfer portal" and will be the new WR coach at perennial FCS power South Dakota State.

With everything that VUU has lost this off-season, it will take a miracle for them to repeat next season.
