A couple of comments from the old lady.....
It was obvious KU had already played a game. We seemed a little rusty and missing some consistency. 2nd half was better that 1st.
KU was well prepared defensively. At times it seem like they knew what we were going to do.
Last time i checked we won the ball game. It is win!

A few thoughts:
Plusses
- Jamar had 113 yards and ran hard
- We had 3 picks against the Keiser QB
- Keiser QB completed 79% of passes last week. Only 52% this week.
- We scored 30 points in second half
- We won the turnover battle (+2)
Concerns -
- Durham only completed 43% of his passes
- We had 5 FG’s (meaning on 5 drives our offense stalled out)
- Our d-line didn’t get much pressure on the Keiser QB
- Feel like our special teams coverage needs to improve
Overall wasn’t the game I thought we’d see from VSU but Keiser was also a much better team than I expected from a NAIA team. Also, first game our coaches have coached together (actually defense has pretty much been together but first time out of the chute with the OC). Keiser challenged us. We responded and got the win. We have athletes. Virginia Union (next opponent) put up 77 points last night (and allowed none). Need some improvement in several areas this week.Last edited by Fan_the_Flame; 09-02-2022, 07:21 AM.

The thing that scared me most about last night was the play calling, even when we could have ended the game by running the ball, there was no real attempt to do so. The defense certainly wasn't great, I kept thinking the offense could really help them out if they would run the ball and control the clock.

I’d guess a first game glitch.Last edited by Fan_the_Flame; 09-02-2022, 07:19 AM.
