Argo website confirms Argos head north to Big Rapids for semifinal #2 vs. Ferris State Bulldogs. The weather forecast looks the same as the 2019 game, but the 2022 Argos are not the same as the 2019 version.

The 2022 Argos look a lot like the Bulldogs on offense with a run emphasis and a running QB. The 2022 Argos are similar to the 2019 Argos in that they force a lot of turnovers in their 2022 playoff run and the D has scored 6 TDs on their 12 turnovers. The Bulldogs were loose with the ball in 2019, but seem to be hanging on to it in 2022 playoffs. The Dogs D looks stingier than Argo D and the Dogs pass more than the Argos, which is an interesting change from 2019.

Argos put their 9-0 road playoff record on the table for another classic matchup in their all white Stormtroopers. The stats from 2019 game and 2022 playoff averages are below for comparison.

Man, I don't like saying this but I don't know that we are on the same level as that 2019 team. I wish Tate and Austin were boarding that flight.

A look at the season stats for the offenses shows two very similar balanced offenses that run for 200 and pass for 200 yards per game. They both score roughly the same amount of points with the Argos TDs split 50-50 run-pass and the Dogs favoring the run 2 to 1 on their TDs. The Argos score twice as many TDs from outside the red zone and through the air than Ferris and they fumble half as much as the Dogs.

Ferris uses three QB for passing and the Argos use one. Ferris also uses the QB and WR for most of their rushing yards while the Argos mainly use RB, although their QB is also the #3 rusher. Both teams have thrown 9 picks and the red zone scoring, conversions and TOP are pretty similar too. The season stats and top producers for each offense are below.

      Ferris State

Just ran the 10 day forecast on the Weather Channel. Rain/Snow on Thursday and Sunday.

Saturday is partly cloudy(partial sun on the icon) with high of 38.

I've got Ferris State over West Florida. No offense to you Argos fans, I just think the Bulldogs are the better team no matter what the weather forecast is.
          Go Mustangs!

None taken. You won’t be the only one picking against Argos and we are used to it. We were told for decades we couldn’t have a team, that we couldn’t win in GSC in first year, that we couldn’t beat Valdosta or win our first playoff game, that a passing team from Florida can’t win up north in playoffs, etc. We just hope our team plays it’s best and let the chips fall where they land.

            Gooo Arrrgggooosss!!!

Glad to see a GSC representing SR2. It was 2013 the last time a non GSC team came out of SR2. Just goes to show how much stronger these teams are.

There are many teams this year from the GSC that would have won SR2. West Georgia not getting in that field proves the system is beyond silly. Take UWF and Delta State out of SR2 and put in West Georgia and UWG walks through it.

Yeah it's very likely. Ferris State is the true #1 seed. The point is West Florida isn't the true #4 seed.

Boy you guys are pretty good at this sandbagging thing in SR2. We all know WF is the favorite for this game. Especially when they're playing in their all-white unis

I’ve missed all the trash talk with Ferris fans and you open with calling us sandbaggers when that is what you’re doing too! Classic dogging from a Bulldog!

I really don’t know what we can talk about since either team can win and we both know Argos play in the cold from last time. Argos are glad Bernhardt is gone and Dogs are glad Reed is gone too. New teams tee it up and Saturday can’t get here soon enough!

The SAC is so fortunate to have won some games against the great GSC over the years. Its like David versus Goliath with the difference in scholarship money etc. I don’t know of a single SAC school that funded over 30 scholarships. Mostly private church affiliated schools with 1,000 students to three thousand students. You guys should be ashamed you lost to Newberry last year at home. West Ga losing to Wingate at home before that is also really un called for. Any way good luck with Ferris State and based on our game against them you guys should win by two touchdowns with how much better you guys think you are.

It's not really a slam I don't think. It's just kind of how it is. Like the SEC is better than Conference USA. If the SEC says that it's not really meant as an insult. West Georgia should have been in the SR2 field. They were A LOT better than any of the non GSC schools in SR2. I agree with the loss to Newberry. West Florida had the best team in the country last year and lost to Newberry. That happened. Last year's team was absolutely better than this years team and this team is in the final 4. The loss to Newberry will sting forever.

That close huh? Hey true facts, last time we played we were so scared we turned it over 6 times, at our own field. Now we have to do it again? You guys put up 45 on everybody. We're a down hill, smashmouth offense that all of sudden decided to go 4-5 wide and put a slot at running back. Imagine Harding waking up one morning and deciding to run a 4 wr no huddle offense. We don't have any traditional run game to worry about and most of our oline are RFr.

We don't even play with a TE unless we're inside the 5 yd line. We're hoping for a snow storm and you guys wearing basketball uniforms to try and slow you down and keep your offense in the 30s..
