The GSC 50 years ago:

Northwestern State (Northwestern Louisiana)
Southeastern Louisiana
Tennessee-Martin
Troy (Troy State)
West Alabama (Livingston)

Now:

Gulf South (D2) - DSU, MC, UWA
FCS - Nicholls, UNA, NW St, SLU, UTM
FBS - Jax St, Troy

1972-75 West Georgia, VD State and West Florida did not have football.

Watch out for more changes in the next three years.

Back then, VSU was VSC, and UWG was WGC.

VSC became VSU in 1993.

WGC became State University of West Georgia (SUWG) in 1996 and UWG in 2005.
