  • NCAA D1 Council no longer testing for Marijuana

I read an article today that I thought some of you may find interesting (especially those talking about the changes of college football in other threads). I have posted it below. Would love to hear your thoughts!

Since I am not knowledgeable about the testing system it is hard for me to react except to say if they did not test for alcohol, then it kind of makes sense to me not to test for marijuana.
Now understand, this comes from a guy who attempted to smoke "one" cigarette in my entire life, does not and never has drunk any alcohol of any type much less smoke anything else. But that is just my choice.

It would take a whole lot of beer, wine, or spirits to match one of today's THC loaded joints, and that's hoping that it's not laced with something worse.

Well one is illegal and one isn't. That's the main difference. Not saying I care either way but I would say that's the main difference. I do think it is smart by the NCAA to pick their battles though. They have been losing A LOT lately.

Football Coach, YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. Thanks for pointing that out. Whether it should be or not, is another whole discussion. But as long as it is illegal, it is illegal.
Again thanks for pointing out the obvious.
