My wife & I were just on campus Friday for a Donor Appreciation Luncheon and everyone was very positive & upbeat, everything seemed fine. I'm still trying to process it. I wish all the best to the kids who now have to find new homes and their families as well as all of the employees who will be out of work.

When I hear the rumblings of school financial issues...I did two things look at the 990 and employee salaries. 990 paints the entire picture

It has been the talk of the town in Newberry... Mostly just shock and shared grief with y'all at Limestone. I cannot imagine what current students, anticipated future students, faculty, and staff are feeling right now.
I've experienced a similar grief when my seminary closed its operations in Columbia and moved to LR at the beginning of this year.
But what y'all are experiencing... wow.
If you search Limestone on Twitter and Blue Sky, almost all the current and thought-to-be 'future' athletes there are trying to go to other schools.
Even if Limestone is able to raise that $6 million before Tuesday, I can't imagine they'll be in any good position with many of their current and future students trying to go to other schools.
It all sucks. For the school, those who love it, and the community of Gaffney... Ugh... Lots of prayers y'all...

This is really sad news. My thoughts go out to the Students, Student Athletes, Parents, Alum, Coaches, Boosters, Employees etc.
I have felt that Limestone was doing a lot of things right, and their football program had become well established and headed in the right direction.
I hope the students and players find well suited institutions (be it private or public) to continue their journey. There's pretty good options out there, but they have to be proactive in finding the best landing spot.

So it appears LR is playing Valdosta in the space Limestone vacated. Not for certain on this but it seems reliable information. Long road trip to an empty stadium in my opinion. Last two times I was there LR had as many fans as they did.

I am assuming that the SAC will update their 2026 schedule to give two open dates at the beginning of the season to help with scheduling out of conference games.
