    https://fmuathletics.com/news/2019/5...tradition.aspx

Florida Memorial (NAIA) is adding football with the plan to field a team for the 2020 season. Could be another possibility for a future addition to the SIAC, or at least a schedule filler for some of the schools. Biggest draw back is that they are located in Miami Gardens which would be a hike for most of the SIAC members, but you never know.

This will make the third NAIA HBCU in the SIAC footprint to field a team (Allen(SC) and Edward Waters(FL)).

Yeah that would be a stretch for some teams. The western division already has to travel to Wilberforce, OH every other year. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing either Allen or EWC in the conference.

Allen/Benedict rivalry could be similar to Clark and Morehouse when it becomes football season.

Would Allen, or for that matter, Edward Waters or Florida Memorial, ever consider making the move from NAIA to D2?

        Edward Waters apparently wants to.

Yep, that's the way it's looking.

Out of the three they would be the closest to making the jump as they appear to already sponsor the required number of sports to be D2. Looks like the only sports they currently don't offer that the SIAC sponsors are Men's Golf and Men's and Women's Tennis. Seems easy enough to add any of those sports if the SIAC required it for them to get an invitation.

Also, I just saw on their website that a new AD is being announced this week. Will be interesting to see if any future plans are mentioned at the press conference.
