  • Food at D2 Stadiums

I know often times larger D1 schools have special food inside the stadium. Does your school have any specialty at the concession stand? I know SAU had some loaded nachos, but other than that it's pretty standard.

I haven't been to concession stand at HU in quite some time. Get my fill from tailgates usually. In recent years, it was all pretty standard. Nothing special. I think they've had some decent polish sausage but not anything you wouldn't find anywhere else.

I just remembered. Henderson had a Kettle Corn. Man that was some of the best I had ever had. It would be pretty cool if one school had like a Steak Nacho Basket, then another something like a loaded hot dog that would be a foot long, then another place having like a seafood boil that you could eat at during the game.

You do a seafood boil I'm there. Actually you don't even have to have a game for me to show up to a seafood boil. May need to add some Louisiana schools to the conference.

I would be down for that. I'm headed back to AR from FL and will stop in LA as a resting point. :)

So crazy enough Louisiana doesn't have ANY D2 schools! Just looked that up. Looks like it's one of only 4 or 5 states that don't. They have 12 D1, two D3, six NAIA, and six JUCO

Well LA does have Nicholls State and they're about as talented as a D2 FB team. In fact, during the 2014 season, the Reddies played Nichols State in Thibodaux and won. HAHA!! But it appears you are right on the D2 situation in LA.

What if there was a Catfish Fry at the OBU vs HSU game ever year. Caught out of the Ouachita River. Get you some hand cut fries, hush-puppies, fried okra, etc and do like $10 a plate. With all proceeds after expenses going to the local food bank or something.

At Pitt you can get Rigatoni with Italian garlic sausage from Palluca's Market or rib crib BBQ. (Although rib crib is a chain, and calling it BBQ should probably be a misdemeanor, at least.) They have a dippin dots kiosk (some kind of ice cream thing?) and a nutty bavarian (Fresh roasted nuts with caramel or cinamon.) I think I saw some kind of slushie kiosk at the last game, too.

Other than that, It's just hot dogs, popcorn, Nachos, or frito pie.

Man that sounds good. I shouldn't have skipped breakfast.

That's still not a bad set up. I've often wondered why food trucks or local places don't set stuff up for games. Seems like it would be easy money and win for all involved. But then again, I'm no restauranteur

At West Georgia they often offer Chick-fil-A sandwiches at the concession stands...............and no one even protests :)

I think Arkadelphia actually has a law against food trucks. Might be the dumbest thing I have ever heard of the town doing.

I think it's all about revenue for school's. School's often let other sports teams run the concession stands to make money for the student workers or raise money for the team.
