  • Maxfield sets career wins record at HSU

Reddies beat UAM 37-27 (wasn't that close) and Maxfield wins his 120th game at the school, surpassing the legendary Sporty Carpenter for most victories all-time at HSU.

Pretty remarkable stat: HSU was 32-78 (.290) in the 10 years prior to his arrival in 2005. They are 120-58 (.674) since.

Yet he can’t get over the Ouachita hump the last 5 years. There was one year that he went on a radio show and said that Battle of the Ravine wasn’t a rivalry.

There you go — get in there and make it all about you. Classy as always, those Tigers.

I play at Harding during the Sporty Carpenter era. Congratulations to Coach Maxfield. Great Coach!
