While I'm sure Jerry has forgotten more football than I'll ever know, good luck getting an 82-year-old to relate to 18-22 year olds in 2024. Wild hire.

He’ll have more coaching experience than the last 10 coaches hired at NWOSU combined!

Wild is one word for it.

Trying to fire up the retirement home fanbase I guess.

I'm curious to see his answer to 62-0 thumping in 2023 by the Bisons flexbone.

Was a finalist to coach at Northern State University back in 2005 or so. Instead the Wolves went with a coach that would set the program back 15 years...should hired Jerry

                    His first outing?
                    7-34 to UAM.

Guess his defense is getting better prepared this weekend. For Ouachita.

I gotta be real with you Luke, I love a lot of your stuff but this take is bad. If your 1-10, maybe a relationship isn’t what you need… you probably need a guy who can organize practice better and make good hiring/ recruiting decisions.

although he probably will relate well with his players because all the guys playing have 1 major thing in common and this dude has done it at the highest levels. I don’t know the guy from Adam but if he’s coaching at 82, he probably loves people and in particular young people.

What’s the deal with that? How’d the other guy hurt y’all’s program?

I hear that critique and certainly get where you're coming from. Very well could be the case. And I hope it does work out for them, as a better NWOSU is good for a lot of reasons. I'm just skeptical about the impact. Sure, he's done it at the highest levels, but he was done at the highest levels before this entire roster was born. Heck, nearly before I was born, too, haha.

Well, his defense scored the only points, so there that. But just going by the score (haven’t seen game yet) I’d say it’s gonna be another long year for NWOSU.

Edit: Never mind, the defense didn’t get the safety. And I’m old enough to remember Glanville with the Oilers. He was mediocre then at the “height” of his career with a HoF QB in Moon. Wikipedia shows his collegiate coaching career has been aggressively bad TBH.

He's a D2 guy at his core. Played at Northern Michigan...
