How is there no broadcast of the OKBU v. HU game that is not behind a paywall??? To my knowledge, no other conference team does this. It’s cheap and it’s wrong.

It’s 31-7 at half and the camera angle has been low end zone basically the entire time. Haven’t been able to see anything. I’ve done dumber things with $12 but at least I felt like I got something out of it.

They started it last year. Actually brought it a good chunk of change. I've personally been pounding the table for a conference network like the MIAA because while it will be an expense to the fan, it will also put money back into the schools and it will (should) raise the production value of all the schools in the league.

Nothing like trying to expand your fanbase by making it harder on them to watch it. MLB has done a wonderful job of pioneering this philosophy.

This is not a good idea. This isn’t D1. The average person won’t pay. Sure the die hards will pay, but you lose the person that’s gonna watch one or two games a year. I don’t think I’d even pay.

Yeah I know other conferences do it, but with schools of that size you have a bit more margin for error. Although I still think it’s a bad idea. Sure they get some extra cash, but at what cost.

I agree with OBUGrad (can’t believe I said that). I like student productions. It gives them valuable experience. I can put up with the technical issues and listen on campus radio if needed. I support my school’s athletic programs by sending regular donations and buying season tickets. I don’t want to be dinked and dunked extra fees to watch online.

The productions would still be whatever the school is able to do. It would just be behind a paywall. OBU has elevated their production equipment and things like that, but the general broadcast is the exact same as what they were doing even five years ago. Still student run with the oversight of the department.

OBUGrad you're definitely right the MIAA has more margin because of the size of schools. GAC is significantly smaller in terms of overall enrollment within the league. I'm sure that's a big factor in why it hasn't happened to this point.
