SAU to a Bowl Game?

Going to be disappointing for SAU to be a 2 loss team and not have any post-season hopes. At this time, I just don't see the GAC getting three playoff spots. One would think, ohh no worries, SAU will head to a bowl game. That being said, will they?

The Texarkana Bowl game folded last year. Heart of Texas doesn't have a D2 game anymore. So could Corsicana be it? I've got to think if they win out by a healthy margin, they could be getting a call. Otherwise, I hate them not being able to play anyone at the end of the season. I wish they could add a few more D2 playoff spots in the future. OBU and Henderson seem to be a lock for the next several years. HSU and SAU will always be looking in from the outside. Would be nice to have "a" non-conference game at least once a year.

Tough road loss for the Muleriders in Searcy last Saturday. It would be great if SAU got an invite to Corsicana to play a LSC opponent (TAMU - Kingsville or UTPB) or a MIAA opponent (Emporia State or Fort Hays).

When the GAC and MIAA get shipped to SR4 next year I just don’t see more opportunities for a 2-loss GAC team to get in the POs based on a 7-team PO alignment (MIAA - 2, NSIC - 2, GAC - 1 or 2, LSC - 1 or 2).

It would be really nice if they just took the top 28 teams and didn’t worry about region. SAU would be in this year if that were the case.

Mulerider, have enjoyed your comments and support over the years - support when Harding is in the playoffs and SAU is not. You are good to have in the conference and on this list. Would love to again see the Muleriders in a bowl game. Shame D2 has lost a few bowls arrangements recently. Have always thought Little Rock would be a great location for a game or two gmes matching teams from the GAC, MIAA, LSC and GSC/SIAC.

I would like to point out a change needed in the quote above. Am I correct to say you meant to write "OBU and HARDING seem to be a lock for the next several years" and not list Henderson twice. Still, you are correct that HSU and SAU just seem to be a step or two on the outside. Would be great to see a strong 4 team grouping from Arkansas. Hey, how about an Oklahoma team or two contending with the Arkansas teams!
