They should try to not lose by 78 in the playoffs first....

clever...and how many points did you guys score? we got 17 in the first half.
we had 5 turnovers. FIVE. you guys lost...a fumble our turnovers equated to 40points.

50 and sunny for you, 22 and snowing for us. we apparently arent a clod weather team. we'll get better, you likely wont.

and you think us moving to D1 means our current team would look the same? new to football im guessing? you should look up some of our stats. many of our players could play for several FCS teams.

Don't know much about wbb...mens could hang with ORU.. wrestling beats d1 teams on the regular now. Hockey and rowing have beaten d1 schools on the way to national championships. But, I thought we were talking g about ucos current football roster

it is but, i can guarantee where UCO is picking some of those guys up, there is some sort of "NIL" involved. you dont just pack your bags from northern saskatchewan to go to freaking Oklahoma to play for a club team. and no scholarship money of some sort. Not mention, they are beating "club teams" from D1 schools. i wouldnt think it would be a huge jump for title 9. UCO has less mens teams than womens.

Bill became law without the need of a signature from the governors office.

Ok. That went faster than I thought it would. The Oklahoma legislature must be different than the Texas legislature, which is basically designed to kill all new bills on an annual basis. I still think this is a long way from getting done. Except for OCU, Cameron and possibly SWOSU, NWOSU and OPSU, I don’t think a new Oklahoma D2 conference could get teams to join voluntarily. Interesting though. If the new OK conference pulled enough teams away from the GAC, it could send the GAC shopping for some new members (I.e. Delta State, NEO, etc.)

Conspicuously missing from the list of schools to be part of this commission: UCO.

Presuming the new Oklahoma conference goes through and that all six Oklahoma GAC schools are a part of this new league, the GAC's two obvious targets would have to be Delta State and TAMU-Texarkana (presuming they follow through on their plans to move from NAIA to D2). It would still give the GAC eight members, so at least that keeps the conference viable.

If I remember correctly, it has been proposed and killed multiple times in the last decade.

I wonder if the MIAA will be able to add any GAC schools.

As has been stated in earlier posts a lot of what happens from here depends on how an all-Oklahoma D2 conference writes its rules and whether or not the Oklahoma legislature makes schools join as a cost-saving measure. I agree with earlier posts on the subject. There’s no way UCO becomes a part of this. As privates, SNU and Ok Baptist could not be forced by the state to join. Certainly the new conference would write its rules to not make football a required sport, which was part of why the bill was written in the first place. My hunch is if this thing gets off the ground it would be at least the 4 Oklahoma state-funded schools who are part of the GAC plus Cameron State, OCU and possibly NEO. OCU being a part will probably be enough to attract SNU and Ok Baptist. If all this happens, the GAC will be a bust and will have to go looking for members in Mississippi and Missouri. I really don’t see SEOSU and ECU voluntarily leaving the GAC.

None of the GAC schools are going to voluntarily leave. None of them want this. This is all about sour grapes on the part of OC, whining about having to travel to New Mexico and not being really competitive in anything.

This legislation establishes the commission to study the feasibility of it. So we're still a long way off from this being a reality. I still don't think it happens.

                                Another hypothetical plot twist.

                                1) Oklahoma schools form their own conference and are in SR4.
                                2) GAC admits 1 or more GSC schools and D3/NAIA East Texas schools looking to move up.
                                3) If #2 happens then GSC goes belly up.
                                4) GAC gets relocated in the GSC spot to SR2 with CC, SAC, and SIAC.
                                5) Other options might be to keep GAC in SR4 and move RMAC to SR3.
                                6) Move GAC to SR3 and ship out the most eastern SR3 conference to SR2.

                                Gee this is fun....
