All speculation about the way it was handled aside. If Harding is making moves to get better, you can't really fault them.

It's a gamble, but if the D stays elite, they'll always have a chance, even while they revamp the O.

Don’t forget this is the program who openly talks about not having enough money to travel and eat lol
I did hear that they outbid Pitt's collective to flip a HS recruit this last offseason. No idea if it's true.

The change was certainly handled poorly. Again , why change when you have had such great success over the past few years?

Will the D be elite when they are defending a third more downs per game? They weren’t before the flexbone!

Nah. They’ll be fine. It’s easy when you steal everyone’s signals. As for the offense, they’ve assembled the best high school coaching staff in the state. Rumor is they have a good shot at the Mena junior high wide receivers coach. They lock that guy down and I’m sure they are gonna be at least a contender next year. Watch out Ferris State.

If they think these changes make them better, that’s awesome for everyone competing against them.

            Hopefully they keep changing things.

No way — The Brotherhood TM would never do anything like that. They’ve made it very clear that honoring God and building fine Christian young men is much more important than winning could ever be.

Are you telling me they might be frauds who are using God as a marketing tool? I don’t believe it!

Mena is an interesting choice of traditionally dysfunctional Arkansas high school football programs. You could have gone with Riverview.

Funny when Chism and Wheaton were both picked from the HS ranks before they got to HU. There are some bitter and angry losers out there!

Chism last coached HS in Missouri before being hired at Harding and Wheaton retired as Weatherford HS HC before volunteering at Harding.

                        Research done buddy.

Chism came back as a GA and built his way up to the O line coach role. Wheaton had multiple stints not only in college but in the GAC as an offensive coordinator.

But what was the last coaching job they had before they were hired? That was the question. I believe these other guys hired have had stints in college as well - yet people on here are knocking them because they are "High School hires". Just like Huck, Simmons, Chism, and Wheaton all were.

Congratulations on running off seasoned veterans of the college game who helped make your program what it is and replacing them with high school coaches who played for them.

Glad you’re fired up about it and have drank the Kool Aid that this is better than what you had. Can’t wrap my mind around that level of brain wash.

Who is 'fired up' about this? Like everyone else, I am ticked off. However, putting down the new guys is crazy. The fact that you are so up in arms is crazy too. Go back to your hole and enjoy your yearly playoff miss or first round exit. I will save you a seat when you come to watch the big boys play in Searcy.
