      I don't think it's that much of an issue as long as nobody is playing. If some are and some aren't, it could be a pretty major issue.

        If D1 plays on TV in essentially empty stadiums and D2 does not play, does that make take a lot of kids that have been the stars of D2 for the past 30 years and make them competitors for spots on S/T units of D1?

          If no one plays, no. Then it is nothing like the Death Penalty. SMU was guilty of what they were charged with. Today's schools haven't been charged with anything. Either we have football in the fall or we have a lot bigger fish to fry that the sport.

            Wonder if this will be the model elsewhere too, should the capacity rules still be in place:

            Iowa State University Athletic Director Jamie Pollard sent a letter to football ticket holders saying they are expecting to host a football season, but operating under the current guidelines of 50% capacity.

            Pollard said the only fans that get to go to games this year will be those who renew their season tickets and make their Cyclone Club donation by June 12.
