We didn't run the ball as much i would have liked to see them run but, we also needed work in the passing game. looked good in some areas but off in others. we need to break out of the habit of leaning on that wheel route out of the backfield.

those freshmen are doing work at the running back position and Garnder has picked up some speed and aggressiveness from his last two weeks in the gulag. fumble the ball and have sh*t work ethic will get you benched now apparently, he was en fuego tonight.

still upset with a few of the seniors. they just aren't performing.

NW Normal, I'm with you. not a fan of the 3 man front but it does work in many cases for us. the linebackers are flat getting into the holes where they are supposed to be. dline are occupying space and personnel and the linebackers are filling with purpose. you can see the pride the defense has right now. NSU went for it on 4th down and got stuck. the whole team came off the field like that was a goal line stand for the national championship. that attitude matters.

so for the season, teams are 1-13 on 4th down. outstanding stat right there. that's more than luck. that's just flat out wanting to take someone's lunch money from them no matter what.

im standing back watching this season unfold and im excited to see this team starting to build momentum. outside of the dline, the older kids aren't performing. looking at the game, all the guys that made the big plays, the TDs, the turnovers (both cause and effect of the fumble) long runs,,,,ints...freshman redshirts or sophs.
that Dline is a battalion that these linebackers are able to anchor on and the dbacks are starting to gain confidence too.

tempered enthusiasm. take noone for granted.

If the O-Line was half of what we have on the D-Line this might have been a scary year for us.
