Ok but Held has been a head coach at the D2 and JUCO levels before...this is not "rookie mistakes". To me, he's more bull-headed and not wanting to adapt.

You're not wrong there. And now the season is pretty much wasted. The postseason is no longer an option so playing to TJ's strengths now might get you an extra win or two but nothing else. And he's done after this year so it's not like he can prepare for next year. But it would also be terribly harsh to TJ to bench him or change his role now to start getting another QB acclimated to the Held system. So they're just left playing out the string and trying again next year.
