Hopefully it won't get like Pitt did before they were willing to change. The gameday atmosphere still hasn't recovered all the way.

We’re by no means big donors but after attending the MSSU & ESU & FHSU games last year we only went to a couple more games the rest of the season and started gearing up for basketball instead.

It was the fewest NW games we saw in person in a season since I started @ NW in ‘69. Sadly unless things turn around quickly I doubt we’ll attend nearly as many away games as in the past this season either.

I don't think you're alone in that. From what I've heard this is the last year on RW's contract...doesn't sound like anyone was willing to write a check for that last year to get rid of him sooner...also heard they'll revisit the contract after this upcoming season.

Will you be looking forward to basketball as much this year after Ben and so many players left?

that is very interesting in the sense that he didn't make staff changes after last season. he's just going to go down with the ship - how foolish of him - the man needs someone on staff that can recruit b/c he sure as heck hasn't been doing it.........effectively.

& with the portal it could have fixed in an offseason. he's a wonderful defensive coach, sad to see it go this way but he made the choices.
            Go Bearcats!

Saw on "X" NW had the 156th rated recruiting class...20 spots below the lowest FBS team and above FCS NC SDSU...OC came to Lions club before last season and said they had changed their recruiting philosophy, going out earlier vs. the traditional waiting until the POs or NC game was over...he griped that it was a year round job now...I'd noticed a lot more Tweets saying they had been offered by NW last year, so I asked him about it...from what I've seen this year they're still doing it...there have been a lot of guys announcing their offer.

They've long recruited out of their camps...perhaps they've expanded that...which I think they've needed to do.

Yes-happy for Ben and the players/coaches that went with him but also excited to see what Coach Keeley can do.

FWIW, they came to Searcy to recruit a couple kids at Harding Academy without them coming to camp. Originally told them they wanted them to come to camp, but extended offer anyways without going to camp.
