Good way to start the season. Sweep TAMI at Laredo 4-0. Face TAMUK at home next weekend. In fact, it was a great weekend to be a Buff period as Buffs & Lady Buffs BB took 2 from ASU and softball went 4-0. So that’s 10 wins! Go Buffs!

Another good weekend for the Buffs. Take 3 of 4 from TAMUK. Now 7-1. Face SEU at home next weekend.

In fact, it was a good weekend, counting Thursday, for WT Athletics. Basketball, baseball & softball combined for 10 wins & only 2 losses. Plus track did well again

Buffs did it again this weekend. Took 3 of 4 from St. Edwards. Sunday’s win was a walkoff 3 run .HR in the bottom of the 9th. Now 10-2 games on the season.

Plus, like last weekend, it is a great time to be a Buff. Men’s & women’s basketball go 4-0 and softball sweeps. Men’s basketball is incredible! Zach Toussaint and Larry Wise combined for 52 points including 12 trays versus WNMU.

Congratulations to HC Matt Vanderburg as he registered his 500th win at WT today!! The Buffs won today and took the series from UT-Tyler. They lead the LSC with a 22-8 overall record and 21-7 conference record. This is Matt’s 15th season at WT which puts him 2nd behind Butch Lauffer in terms of years coaching at WT.

I'm impressed with not only the long tenure of a lot of WT coaches, but the success to go with it. Looks like in the last two seasons, there have been a total of 34 LSC team championships, and WT has won 15 of those. That's 44 percent going to one school, and the other 56 percent going to the other 16.

More like a few WT coaches have the long tenure.

Most of them are 7 years and below.

If the WT coaches are making consistent Elite 8 national appearances in their sport then they arent around for very long and off to D1 pastures.

I suspect Mook might be in that boat in the next few years.

Of course at WT football if you win or lose you get fired. 😉
