none of 3 GNAC teams made it on men's side, but former football member APU plays Point Loma tonight. GNAC team in West regional is Alaska Fairbanks, who beat CWU in the conference final and was the 10th seed in conference tourney plays soon.

So far the higher seeds have held on the Women's side - I am thinking the same will hold true for the first round on the men's.

The TAMUC - LCU tonight should be a good game. Whatever "it" is in sports, LCU is missing the "It." The players are the same as before,
there is a lack of intensity in their play. TAMUC has the better athletes, even missing their PG & Post. IF the officials continue to call touch fouls
TAMUC should win a close game. They are faster and better athletes, it is a well-coached team.

TWU v. Wt Wt lost to TWU by 11 at TWU. Wt. shot 33% to TWU's 45% in that game. Our offense is better now and we are playing at home.
Should be a close game, once again, if Lewis stays out of foul trouble Wt should win this one also.

LCU played with a lot of intensity after the first quarter. They had real foul trouble issues. Duncan picked a good day to be hot. Commerce a more physical team but LCU kept #3 and #12 in check.

LCU defeats Commerce and ends our D2 era. NOT the reason Commerce lost, but the officiating was terrible. I hope the NCAA can do better moving forward in this tournament.

Is softball and baseball the only sports left that Commerce is playing before officially going D1?

Softball, track, golf are left. No baseball team in Commerce.

Yes, the officiating was crap. TWU had taken 18 FT before Wt shot their first - with 3:48 left in the third quarter.

Just a note. Former WT player Joel Murray has been a key player now at Long Beach State this year. He was the leading scorer last night with 24 points in the Big West Championship game. They were a last possession away from punching a ticket to the big dance but lost by 1 point. Since Long Beach State won the regular season title they have an automatic berth in the NIT as a likely 8 seed against a top seed that barely missed the NCAA tournament.

For those interested, a former CWU player starts for USF who got an at-large selection as a 10-seed in the East bracket. He'll be playing though with a broken nose he got in the 2nd to last game of the regular season.
