  • CWU "JV" vs. PNWCC

I never think about "JV" teams in college, but it looks like CWU sent their JV/Scout players down to the Tri-Cities to take on Pacific NW Christian College, which is Washington State's only JUCO football program (I have never even heard of until now). CWU got the 31-14 win. Do they regularly play these "JV" games or was this just a one time thing on a bye week?

I kind of thought that went by the wayside when Washington state basically got rid of all it's juco teams in the late 80s/early 90s. Interesting to get some reps in.

I've never heard of them doing this before.

I don't think Texas colleges and junior colleges have played each other, even JV teams, since before World War II. Some of the small programs trying to get started did way back. I believe Kingsville played some junior college teams back in the late 1920's and early 1930's to fill up their schedule. But that was a long time ago.

But it does sound fun and interesting. Definitely a good way to get the 3rd and 4th string kids some reps.
