I quit picking/betting bowl games seriously several years ago when players started sitting out bowl games due to what happened with Willis McGahee and of course recently who all is left after they enter the transfer portal.

I will make my attempt for fun to see what I can do.

I'm in. I'll have a hard time picking any ACC teams since I grew up a Big East fan, but imagine if what happened to FSU happened in D2?

What would happen if Matocha got hurt and the committee decided to put the fourth best team from the NSIC in the playoffs in their place (other than CWU might still be playing right now)?

2011 Humboldt State (9-1) is the closest I remember.

There was another team out there in the late 2000s (Carson Newman, maybe?) that finished 9-1 and only trailed the last 30 seconds of the game for that 1 loss.

The CN team definitely got screwed. As did that Humboldt team. The only thing against Humboldt is the fact that they were a GNAC team, when you had to go undefeated to even sniff a low seed in the playoffs.
