Renner is not good... His defenses have always been average at best. He's the only long tenured coach that never moved on to a better job. I suppose waiting out Maskill was his only shot at getting a better gig. I'm anticipating a few bad years before a new regime takes over.

Gil Steinke had 181 wins at A&I. I've seen several articles that have Harms at #1 with 172. Unless they are referring to D2 only wins, they are inaccurate.

I think saying that it is only D2 wins for Harms would be inaccurate since it looks like the LSC didn’t join the NCAA until 1982, which was Harms’ fourth year at A&I/Kingsville. Still had 172 wins though, 10 behind Steinke as you already said. Regardless, that’s a lot of wins and national titles!

He is still listed on the New Orleans Breakers as a coach on their roster but couldn't find anything if the USFL/XFL merger will have any effect on that team.
