Plenty of students at the games who get in for free thanks to one of the many fees they pay with quarterly tuition. However, we have a healthy amount of local/regional attendees, many of whom pay extra in annual or per game fees for the alumni berm/Wildcat Club. The increase of sponsorships and giving is noticeable over the past 10 years. I just think it needs to be 10-fold in order for FCS to be a reality.

The students, who can afford it the least, are essentially funding semi-pro sports for the community. It's an awful business model and wholly unfair to the students, many of which are going deeply into debt to, in part, subsidize these athletic programs.

Looks like McMurry and Schreiner are joining the ASC conference which makes it likely the conference near term will not dissolve. Great news for Central Washington and Western Oregon.

Wouldn't be surprised at all to hear that Sul Ross is rejoining them. That's where they need to be budget-wise.

You didn't think McMurry was coming back to the LSC did you? That was a disaster for them, but of course a game Nesbitt could win. I believe one year we beat them twice!

Not at all. I was just pointing out that those schools were joining the same D3 conference (ASC) that UMHB and East Texas Baptist were in and those schools are rumored to leave the conference to possibly move up to D2. Now that Schreiner and McMurry are joining that conference, the ASC stays intact and a good point that MooseLodge made above which might give Sul Ross an off ramp back to D3 if they continue to struggle at D2. That puts the LSC on shaky football ground again and keeps Central Washington and Western Oregon on more stable conference ground for now.

I might be off but this puts the SCAC at 4 football schools and puts them in danger of needing to add more football schools to keep their automatic bid. Could this cause the same rumors of the remaining schools to leave or d2 talk as well?
