The university belongs to Texas A&M. There are no other stakeholders anymore. We'd have a way better chance starting from scratch, making Amarillo College a 4-year university, foreclosing on Memorial Park to build a new campus, and go on down the road. Angelo State used to be a community college. If they could do it, so could AC. Screw "affiliation" with someone else.

I've got no confidence in Aggie ever doing anything to help WT. They are concerned about one thing: College Station.

It would have to begin with either the Legislature or the Governor's office. Political pressure would have to be brought. UT legislators in conversation with the Gov and UT Board of Regents would have to study a proposal to move WT from the A&M system to UT's.

I'd be all for it. Just the rumor of UT interest in WT might shake up A&M's step-child treatment of WT. It might force the Regents to find a truly GOOD replacement for Wendler. It's time we had a Prez more like O'Brien, not a failed hack like Wendler.

“A failed hack like Wendler.” This comes from Optimist Prime no less.

        It’s the perfect description.
