I stated earlier that I felt Tarleton had made the right move as an institution. I don’t feel the other affiliates were treated with respect or fairness. I remember that Angelo State was with the Texas State University system but didn’t feel they were represented fairly. They were able to change direction. There seems to be a lack of confidence from the legislature in the current A&M leadership right now. Is this the time to voice your concerns to the right people in the legislature or just be satisfied with the status quo’s?

Y’all have crappy presidents and not forward thinking administrations. Let’s begin there, and then start the conversation. Crying, and saying woe is me, is not the whole truth here. Tarleton has made a lot of its own “luck” happen.
A massively growing enrollment, an engaged alumni base, large NIL fund, etc.
Wt, Commerce, Kingsville, y’all could have all done this. You didn’t. Can’t, won’t, whatever. Enjoy Wendler’s D3 Texas league vision in a few years.

Thanks Texan Fan but this is aimed directly at Moosehead talking trash and basically calling everyone liars about the figures Tarleton continues to release

University of Tennessee @ Chattanooga in a presser after the loss to Tarleton said (paraphrasing) it’s hard to compete with a program that has $700,000 in NIL compared to our $35000

Moosehead I can stop bashing you over the head repeatedly with reality checks if you will just own up and admit you really don’t know the facts

I heard Crow Pie is delicious served cold.

                Here’s the quote:

"That's $700,000 we're playing tonight against my $35,000," UTC seventh-year head coach Rusty Wright bluntly said on the postgame radio broadcast, referring to what he said is the amount of money Tarleton State has in name, image and likeness compensation compared to UTC. "Chattanooga, if you're listening, if you want something like this, you better open up the pocketbook. That's the only way you're going to keep good players.“

Coaches exaggerate all the time though. Does the UT-Chattanooga coach really know what TSU is spending, or is he trying to fundraiser in his post game pressers (or both)? I hear enough PJ Fleck in the media up here to understand coaches are always selling.

Whether or not they have that much NIL money or not it does tell me they have a war chest not matched by many at the FCS level.

The point of my argument was directed at the Naysayer Moosehead.

Tech spent $28 million on NIL. I’m sure no one saw that coming. We are now the latest version of SMU 2.0. Best Defense I’ve ever witnessed at Tech. EVER! If Leach would’ve had this D a Natty would’ve been an after thought. But I digress, Leach’s Defenses closely resembled how a screen door works on a submarine.

So, Moose said attendance numbers were bogus at TSU

                  They are not.

Moose said TSU Athletic budget wasn’t in the $40 million range.

Moose said TSU enrollment numbers are inflated

Moose makes a ton of disparaging remarks but has yet to show any evidence to the contrary

Here is your grand opportunity to dispel all that TSU puts out

If this is for me, yeah…you’ll get crickets. I couldn’t care less what Tarleton has or doesn’t have 🙂 Just wanted to provide the quote and that coaches exaggerate all the time in order to benefit them/their program.

Mav, nothing personal as I am sure a guy from Minnesota doesn’t spend five minutes fixating on Tarleton.

Not sure about your reading comprehension since the whole post is directed towards Moose.

Absolutely not! Great season for me since college football went semi pro and Texas Tech has and endless supply of oil money for NIL. I am thinking $28 million so far and signing 4 and 5 star recruits and finally a respectable Defense.

Moose is the one having bad days hiding from his gross ignorance of reality that Tarleton actually does have the money enrollment and home game attendance he repeatedly said they didn’t .

Moose needs realize he’s not the know it all and own the fact he’s clueless about what goes on at that university monetary or otherwise

BTW TSU is ranked 3 in FCS but I’m sure they are doing it with smoke and mirrors as well

Tarleton missed the boat when they went with the name instead of a COACH. Shoulda hired WT's Tom Brown. He was a finalist. Reisman caved.

I set next to a former D2 HC of more than 20 years and Power 4 D1 asst at a WT practice last year. He commented that he saw more solid coaching at Brown's 2 hour practice than he saw in a month at the D1.
