Can we start a new thread for WT Football. One that doesn't have fire Hughes in it and 40 pages of stuff from 5 years ago. Use it or don't. Just a thought.

This will make ASUPops heart so happy to see this new WT thread.

                  My honest take.

He's pretty green as an OC. Not great, not the worst. The O did improve from yr 1 to yr 2 at Pitt, but the new OC was helping him in year 2, so I'm unsure how much was him vs. Smith. His O tended to prefer a slower developing, finesse passing game. The year 1 Offense seemed lost when it came to creativity in the run game, or even plain old power football. That improved in year 2, but like I said, not sure if that was him?

In his defense, his year 1 qb wasn't a runner, but scrambled decently behind the LOS.

He did have some good TX HS contacts, as he was a wr coach for carthel.

I think he will be a really good recruiter. I guess we will see how he is as an OC

Amen! I had 2 brothers and a nephew who had a stint with WTam , so I check in every once in a while. Thankfully, we coverted the two that continued to ASU 👍. Having a upteen year old thread just shows the dad/mom newbie’s on the thread that we are stuck in the past. BTW, may be this should be a new thread, but when new cocky dads, ( or mom’s), show up on the thread, some definitely need some air let out of their heads, let’s coach’em but not smok’em.

At this point we would welcome the cocky parents which means WT is relevant again.

Policing (especially with ASUPops) isnt a concern with some of the cockier ETAM and UTPB peeps that were on the board the last several years.

Sounds like a treble hook set for ASUP😉. The posters back in the mid 2000s had to be thick skinned. Everything including double identities on the board and frequent visits from the D2 coolers was the order of the day. More so on the big board. I got initiated myself but learned not to take everything too seriously. I enjoyed it then as a parent of a student athlete and do so now because I have the time. And yes, a little cockiness on your side of the ball sure feels good when things are in your favor.
