Wayne State looks phenomenal. Hopefully it's more that and not just that the Dragons are terrible. But this is discouraging.

Seems like the Dragon OLine might be an issue.

If I’m a Dragon coach or fan, I’m not thrilled with some of the hits Strand is taking down 44-17.

It might be more of a Jimmie’s and Joe’s problem than an X’s and O’s problem since Wayne is getting constant pressure with just rushing 3-4 guys. Makes it hard for the QB to have much success down the field.

Yeah, that’s tough. I know when I saw the Dragons last year, the OLine was not impressive (physically or in the actual play on the field). Strand might be awesome, but if he gets a lot of peressure, that will make it tough for him

I would encourage Strand to bolt when he feels pressure. He appears to have decent athletic movement and pocket awareness.

Great win for the Cats....this game had me very worried.

Now a big one next week against Mankato

The Jims of Jamestown almost pulled off the massive upset over Chadron, but ultimately fell 17-10

Not a good showing for the Dragons tonight, just seemed off from the get go. With that being said I know the score reflects poorly, but they were in that game. Big stop and got the ball back down 27-17 in the 3rd. That Strand pick 6 was the nail in the coffin. He will have to clean it up going forward. A run game would certainly benefit him as Wayne was content dropping 3 deep and leaving 5 under in coverage while only rushing 3 a majority of the game. That is tough to pass into and I believe most teams will play them very similar going forward until they force them not to with a respectable run game.

Hats off to Wayne St. That’s a damn good football team. Calling my shot here, I think they are 10-1 and NSIC champs at the end of the regular season. 2 big wins to start the season. Will be a good one next weekend against Mankato.

I thought that about Moorhead last year.......a competent run game would help them tremendously.

Pretty much the case. We haven't had a running back get more than 100 yards in a game since 2019. It's one of the things that's a hinderance because when the passing game isn't coming together, they're not really able to pound the rock much.

Augustana 35-13 over Mary. Viks played many different men on both sides of line of scrimmage. Between the 2 QBs it appears sophomore Gunnar Hensley was better being more mobile and hitting long passes. We will see more of both QBs. New RB from Gophers had a 56yd Td pass and runs fast for his chunky build. Defense was strong with 12 TFL and 6 sacks. Mary has quality players on O and D, they will win some games.

Next week Augie will eat some humble pie vs. the 2 time FCS champs Bunnies. Heard NSU got 90k for playing mangy coyotes. Thinking AU will get at least 150k. Yotes attendance was under 8k, Jacks is sold-out at over 19k

Saginaw State didn't come out for the national anthem. I thought we were passed that.

Michigan Tech stayed off the field until after the Anthem as well. Seemed odd

In the Wayne/Dragon game, I really think #21 on Wayne could have had an interception, in the fourth, but he chose to lay a hit instead. The ball was right there.
