  • NSIC Wrestling

Watching the Wolves and Dragons dual. It's hard to find a bad wrestling broadcast. Usually, you have to find someone who knows something about the sports and wrestlers are either all in or not wrestling so usually I find good people doing it. MSUM is the best so far due to not only a clock going but having a ride time clock as well. Very well done.

Not NSIC but still an interesting article about wrestling and how few programs that there are out West.

Parkside has been a fairly strong program last 10 years, will be a good addition to the conference and this will most likely help them with recruiting as well vs. independent schedule. Good to see!

865 miles one way for a dual with Minot...now THAT sounds fun. Haha

No longer NSIC, but Upper Iowa is adding women's wrestling.

He is so incredibly supportive of the other athletic programs. One of the best, for sure. Every interaction I’ve had with him (including working on campus 20+ years ago, at events, classes, even working at a convenience store very near campus while in college) was extremely positive. I can’t say enough good things about Jim Makovsky.

EDIT: I thought about putting the link in the junk drawer (Jamestown) for more visibility since he’s always at games and visible himself!

I will underscore this- I would see him at basketball, football, baseball and who knows what else. I have to tip my hat to Maverick coaches- instead of fighting each other they support other sports. I talked to the tennis gals who worked the concession stand on Saturday- what great visibility for a sport not seen by a lot of fans.

Agree with all of this, and will add that Kevin Buisman is a fantastic leader of all of it.
But 100%, the coaches are supportive of each other and their programs. Jim was just everywhere, and probably still will be.
