MLB announced the passing of Ron Teasley yesterday - he was a Wayne State (MI) alum and former Negro Leaguer with the New York Cubans in 1948. He also played for the Carman Cardinals of the Mandak League in Manitoba.

A couple of former Mandak Ballparks are currently in use by the NSIC.

This also leaves Bill Greason as the only remaining Negro League Alumni.

Thought I'd share since he was the alumni of a D2 school.

Augustana sweeps the Green Beavers in an early February, four game matchup, in Sioux Falls.

Pitt is still undefeated so far. Idk enough about d2 baseball to know if they have played any real competition yet, but 17 or 18 in a row is a pretty good start.

I don't think they've played an overly tough schedule so far, but they've outscored their opponents 241-37. Doesn't matter who you play, if you're 17-0 and have that kind of scoring margin, you're legit and you're expecting to be in a Super Regional at a minimum.

The Green Beavers just won their first four game series since 2017, defeating William Jewell in three of four over the weekend. The Beavers are now one win away from tying last year's win total of four!! First home games scheduled for Bemidji are March 31.

Pitt lost a 7-innng spread to Emporia 14-2 today. That leaves CentralMO as the only team to remain undefeated in MIAA conference play. The Mules MIAA schedule is probably the softest so far as they have played Northeastern & Newman.

And then there were none, Western beat the Mules 10-3. Each team had 10 hits but 5 of Western's cleared the fence.

The Mules won a 7 inning spread in game 2 of the DH 16-0. Gavin Williams tossed the 9th no-hitter in Mules history and the first complete game no-hitter since 2004.

Augustana Vikings swept #18 Drury in 4 games, now face GVSU. Last week Augie lost all 4 games against #9 Colorado Mesa in Grand Junction. I think pitching is a concern.

Pitt won the series against CentralMO 2 games to 1. Central won the 3rd game of the series to avoid their first MIAA conferece sweep since MOWest in 2017.

CentralMO lost 2 of 3 against Rogers dropping a second MIAA series for the first time since 2018. Rogers is currently the top team in the MIAA.

Augie nudges Mavs for regular season NSIC title. However, I think Mankato is a slight favorite over Augustana in conference tourney having swept the Vikes in a 3 game series at home. Two teams virtually mirror each other in conference statistics.

Since Augie is automatic, and so is Tech, it looks like Mary will be the first team out just like they were in women's basketball. Still their best year ever.
