The Erie media also didn't post anything which is the norm if their team loses.

Actual fans like hearing what the coaches say afterward.

He's not a bad announcer. The screaming is just so odd. Edinboro's tech is pretty bad. The actual video is very poor. I really hate the crowd being muted. It's just so awkward and not being able to hear reactions really kills the broadcast (even more).

Slippery Rock started that 'Indiana' thing years ago and a few follow suit.
Well, unfortunately for them they’re going to have to think about how “Indiana” ended Boro’s season convincingly in their own barn for some time to come.

I’m planning to head up tomorrow but have never been to their gym. It looks like a pretty nice venue.

It's a bigger version of Memorial Field House. Old school but nice. Plenty of parking.

It's a lot bigger than it looks on the video.

Needless to say with the host out tickets won't be an issue lol.

All those times West Liberty has hosted the regional, they posted all those press conferences within minutes. The only time they never did was when they lost in 2015. Still bothers me to this day.

        • IUP has signed transfer guard Teresa Maggio.

Maggio started her career at Tarleton State and played last season for Mount Vernon Nazarene (NAIA). She averaged 19.4 ppg this past year and said she left due to a coaching change.

          Nice outside shot.

          • This is actually her FOURTH school. IUPUI (now IUI to Tarleton State to Mount Vernon Naz to IUP).

So from D1 to NAIA to D2. I guess if it doesn't work out at IUP, Saint Francis is an option since they will be D3.

That used to be a red flag. I literally don't think anybody cares anymore. Even coaches are assuming they are getting just one year out of these kids.

Agreed. Nobody cares. Athletes are just a bunch of mercenaries now. If she has success at IUP and still has some eligibility left she will just transfer again.

Speaking of the portal, I saw Morehead State had FIFTEEN in the portal. Yes, they got a new coach. But can you imagine a coach having to build an entire team from scratch. Welcome to the new age of college athletics.

Ben McCollum did it when he took the Drake jon and made the tournament this year while doing it. It's not that uncommon anymore.

It has been a little less common for women to transfer, but now they seem to be picking up steam. That’s crazy to lose an entire team. You’d think at least half of them would stay just to finish their degrees. Maybe it’s too easy to transfer on the academic side of the equation. Are all of these players’ credits transferring? Is that part of the the deal for a player when they decide to sign? For example, “I’ll sign with you if you accept all of my credits from the two different schools I’ve already been at.”

The right leader/coach - today - can rebuild in one off-season. It takes a little lightning in a bottle to get all the imports to not only co-exist but to play well together. But, if you have the money, you can build an all-star team pretty quickly (especially at the D2 level).

We lived through it, but looking at what Joe did last year is really quite the odd approach these days (starting a total rebuild around four freshmen). Luckily for him, they are all returning for Year 2. Joe could have easily built a Portal team last year. He has the money. He chose (his words) to go the old school path. We'll see if they get to Year 3, but he is now set up pretty well for Year 2.

                      • Locally, Penns Manor star guard, Alyssa Altemus, has signed with UPJ. Last year Marion Center’s Lydia Miller signed with UPJ so that’s two excellent local athletes that are Mountain Cats. Allie Mumau, Penns Manor’s star forward, had earlier signed with Shippensburg. The next star player from the Heritage Conference coming out will be Macie Miller from Marion Center, although she’ll only be a junior next season. I’d say you can pencil her in at UPJ unless she lands a D1 spot.
