Previous coach had 3 recruits. Wonder about their status.

Brooke Jensen from Vermilion was originally committed but has since decommitted. Her mom is Becky Flynn-Jensen who was a prolific player from Wakonda.

        • Cody offered Blake Ellwein from Huron. His dad Jay used to play for Augie:

Apparently Awit Mamer is now committed to Emporia State as well.

              • Cody continues to cook. 2 interesting transfers, from Drake and a young man from Switzerland transferring from a college in Florida.

                • And that completes an incredible roster rebuild...

Cody put together an intoxicating combo of guards, wings, and bigs from a variety of backgrounds. Now we just need to see a schedule to keep the hype train going.

You probably already have this Laker. Augie's CCHA schedule.

I see that they are coming to Kato. Sometime I want to see the new building from the inside instead of the outside now that it is finished.

                          • Thanks. No new teams for me to see at MSU, SCSU or Augie for hockey this year. At least the Dartmouth women will be coming to Kato the following season.

Thanks! One thing that I don't do for my list of teams seen in person- I don't count multi- team events, like wrestling, track or swim meets where you might have one or few members of a school participating. Now dual meet are quite another thing.

I think that Augie & MSU will have even more of a rivalry now that the Vikings have added hockey. Another sport to compete in. I don't foresee them adding women's hockey- at least I haven't heard that they are planning to do so, but even way back in the initial NCC days in the 70s before MSU stupidly dropped football and went back to the NIC with their tail tucked between their legs, there have been a lot of great games between the two schools.

My buddy Randy who went to UND because he wanted to go to a school who beat the Gophers in hockey once told me that I could coach the sport. I laughed and told him that I could barely roller skate. I had coached him in football and baseball and played fast pitch softball with him. He said that there are basics in pretty much all sports and that I already knew those. Nice compliment but I'm sure I'd have gotten fired before the year was over. I'd stick with basketball during the winter, even though there are some people who didn't think that I knew anything about that sport either!
