    Re: Week One NSIC Chat

84-59 Wolves with 1:24 to go. Line change in for the Wolves. Northern absolutely took over in the second half with their length and depth.

Augustana, motivated by potential embarrassment, has surged to a 6 point lead with 340 to go.

Carlos Anderson for the Mavs is a liability at this point. Once the ball is in his hands, he's going to the hoop or making a lazy pass. And he is a ghost of late matador on defense...

Northern wins 86-60. I wasn't watching closely enough to give a more in depth analysis. I'm pretty impressed with such a big disparity considering I was expecting this game to be a close game.

Augie appears to have avoided a catastrophe by going on a 21-2 run and take a 10 point lead with 2 minutes to go

Even though I would have enjoyed a loss to Concordia that is more than impressive and expected from Augie.

Augie wins 75-56 thanks to 22 points from Matt Cartwright on 6-7 from 3. John Warren mustve had at least 5 steals in the second half as Augie was down 49-35 and finished the game on a 40-7 run!!!!! Marcus Asmus appeared to be hobbled in the second half so Augie might be short handed tomorrow night.

Two things that stood out for the Wolves victory is that Ian Smith finished with 26 points and that Logan Doyle only played 19 minutes. That is encouraging to win that handily without our best player playing much of the game.

Finishing the game with a 7-40 beating after being up 14 will probably end up as the worst collapse of the season by any NSIC team. Congrats to Augie for making it happen.

BSU holds off Duluth 73-63. Congrats Beavers!

PS: Strange to have 10 people play, most regularly, yet only 5 players scored, all 5 in double figures. Good luck against the Huskies tomorrow.

Evans size and strength really impacted this game as Sather indicated in his comments.

umary not very good...Moorhead just a little better. Moorhead only playing 6-7 guys. Not much inside. Surprised not playing their freshman, but suppose assuming more of rebuilding year so why waste a year. Probably the right call.
