  • I hope Ben remembers what Scott said for a while longer: ‘the big time is where you’re at’

    • The non-money side of it is that these guys are ultra competitive. If you've ever stepped on a court and played against Ben in anything, you'd know that's true. The challenge of succeeding at the highest levels can also be enticing. Really, for him, what more can he do at Northwest? The only direction he can go is down here. If he has those kind of D1 asperations, he probably needs to do it while riding this wave. He's obviously recruited his system very well at NW... replacing Pitts with Hudgens like it was a wash is pretty amazing if you think about it. Will he be able to do that again in a couple of years at the PG position? If his next wave of players aren't as good and they take a step back, his star doesn't look quite as bright. But hey, if his competitive juices are fulfilled in keeping Northwest at or near the top of the MIAA and D2, then yay for us... we won't need to hire a new coach for a very long time.

      • NW 65 UNK 60 in a dogfight. Diego was playing sick and Dreamer’s hurt and didn’t suit up. Hawk had another double-double(24 pts/12 rebounds) in 40 minutes. He also chipped in 2 assists 2 blocks 4 steals and only 1 turnover. NW only played 7.

        • Hopefully the upcoming renovation of tired old Lamkin will help a little in keeping Ben at least until Hutch & Diego graduate

What’s the scoop on that? Is this happening? Do they have the donors to get it going?

I just talked to a friend at the game who’s seen the drawing but don’t know a timeline etc

What is the scoop on Dreamer? Noticed he was not suited.

                  • Bearcats were dominant today on their way to an 83-57 victory over Fort Hays. They really shared the ball well today having 5 guys reach double figures. Trevor Hudgins became the first Bearcat to ever record a triple double. Up 36 at one point, it was kind of nice to have a relaxing Saturday afternoon for a change.

                    • Congrats to Trev for making NW history tonight....10 pts 11 assists 11 rebounds 2 steals 1 block and 0 turnovers! Wow
Congrats also to RS-F Luke Waters on another new career high of 16.

                      • I am shocked Bearcat basketball had never had a triple-double until yesterday.

I was surprised when they announced that too.

At one point around halfway through the first half they said Newman was 8-12 from the field and still down 13 points. Yikes!
