The NSIC is a great league. You definitely will love watching and you get your money's worth. Lots of good teams and great players. Very tough night in and night out.

One of the things I enjoy and appreciate about D2 and the NSIC especially is schools don't change coaches often. Margenthaler at Mankato (20 years), Billeter at Augie (18 years), Johnson at Sioux Falls (13 years), Bigler at Southwest (13 years) and Murken at Minot (10 years) are some of the longest tenured.

What should I know about favorites? Underdogs? Teams under the radar? ....
Thanks in advance!

Thank you so much for the time to put this together.. Can't wait to see how these questions are answered.

Northern’s been team to beat for past few years, but lost a number of players from last year. Is northern able to continue winning way with mostly new roster?
Moorhead played well last year… has veteran team returning and look poised to take another step forward..how will they handle the high expectations?
St. Cloud and Minot finished last season strong, can they take another step this year?
New coach and new faces at Mary…expectations probably not real high going into this season.
Bemidgi lost some guards, but will be strong in the post…can that work in today’s age of basketball?
Crookston many new faces…probably underdogs this year
Duluth bunch of young talent…still young but don’t overlook.
south
Wayne state…kinda came out of nowhere last year…return most guys….no reason they can’t win a bunch of games this year…
mankota always athletic…good young guys now more veteran…can they make the jump to the top of conference?
usf underperformed a bit last year…do they have enough depth to turn it around?
Augie has lost some real core guys the last few seasons…still plenty of talent to beat anyone…don’t ask about Cartwright’s health, apparently...
uppwer Iowa has good guards…do they have enough size to compete with top teams…
Winona suffered from injuries last year…have some talent, but they need to prove it
southwest…may depend if Byers comes back or not…a lot of new faces.
Csp- a number of newer guys…probably a year or two before they can threaten the top teams too much…
