If memory serves me NW also lost their good big man whose name escapes me early in the regional final vs UCM the year UCM won it all.

Curse seems like a strong word considering our success… lol. Witthus was hurt but played through a back injury, I believe, in the Elite 8 one year. The way he was moving looked bad and they weren’t sure he was going to be able to go. Diego, I believe sat out of an Elite 8 or Final 4 game one year. I think Alexander may have been out the championship game the year he won the regional MVP, but my memory is sketchy. I’m sure Fanatic or Zub can be more precise on the details.

Wrist has to be stabilized to heal properly. Have no idea what expectations for Wes' fracture to heal, but I would not have guessed his cast could come off in 3 weeks. Glad they are hopeful. And, then for Dreamer to work out the stiffness and get his shot back, especially putting up his 3-pt shots. Tough. But, man I would love to see him back in the lineup. This Bearcat team will need him come tournament time. It will be HUGE for us to have a healthy Byron Alexander play extended minutes. Nobody better in the lane getting the ball to the basket.. So tough offensively in the lane. Ratigan and Moala will need to step up. They will be anxious for the playing time coming their way, altho there's no question they would rather have Dreamer's experience on game day.

Seems there is some kind of Bearcat curse with injuries coming the way to our players come tournament time.

I thought the same thing Zub…is this the ‘24 version of Justin Pitt’s ‘18 injury?

Word is that Wes is hoping to be back from
his wrist fracture before season ends. Can you play with a soft cast on your shooting hand?

I was afraid it was more than just a sprain. Hopefully he’s not out for the season

I heard there is a fracture in his wrist (unfortunately the shooting hand). I don’t know the time table for that, but that's a big blow if true. That was an impressive win yesterday, without him, on the road against a Washburn team that’ has played pretty well and I don’t think had lost at home.

There were missed calls and stuff let go both ways, but there were a couple muggings in the first half (which they eventually called), and I thought Dreamer probably doesn't get locked down late in the game if he doesn't have forearm shoves in the back and sometimes even the chest on every catch.

That said, it definitely won't be the only officiating crew to call it that way, and it definitely created trouble. 6 points in the first 6 minutes, 5 points (all free throws) in the last 8 minutes. Fortunately for y'all, defense is a part-time job in Emporia, and you punished us pretty well in between. Better team won.

Meh… I watched it. Just a physical MIAA game. I didn’t see anything egregious. A few hard fouls that led to big collisions, but they were called. Both coaches fighting for their guys. It’s basketball, it’s conference season… March is around the corner. Complaining about officials, win or lose, is lame. I’ve called our fans (might have even been you 🤣) out on it before when we’ve lost. I just don’t go there or care to hear it from anyone.

Careful… The Bearcats shot 12 more FTs than their opponents again. The whole system is rigged.
