Drawing 887 people to the game down there in Warrensville on a pretty cold night is still about 2.5 times more people showing up for a game at Bearcat Lamkin Arena these days ... on a pleasant night.

Big one at Gross tonight. 1 vs 2 in the MIAA going head to head with Washburn at Hays. WU was down at half and scored a season low when we met in Topeka. Hays should probably be in the top 25 right now.

How do we feel about that call to send it to overtime?

        Entertaining game anyway.

You mean the travel that wasn't called before anything else!

I'll say that no one was happy with that crew. Called a lot fouls against hays in the first half that got our guys in foul trouble. Then washburn started fouling at the end that made the stat line look better. Ballard was furious about a few calls.

The over 3000 in attendance created a great atmosphere.

Yeah both coaches were majorly PO'd at one point or another with the refs. Crowd was incredible, that was quite a scene. Hays is really, really good.

Washburn got by UNK on Saturday but it was more competitive than the final score would make you think. Both games against UNK have been like that. We'll take the win though, especially since some of the guys were sick apparently.

UCM men and women sweeping Hays was extremely impressive. Next Saturday in Warrensburg going to be a war for UCM and Washburn.

Great wins by the Mules and Jennies. First time since 2010 that there was a UCM sweep in Hays. What is really baffling in getting swept in Emporia and then the Mules losing to NW in the 'Burg.

Night and day difference from how the Jennies looked in Emporia to Saturday. Seems like they're starting to put everything together. Impressive stat lines all over the game, three players with 18+ pt double-doubles, Weeter with 35, and UCM had some role players making plays too.

Not sure if the men only allowing only five field goals in the first half - all in a five minute stretch - had more to do with good defense or bad offense.

Felt like both of our teams were still recovering from Thursday games!! Hopefully can adjust better to big games in close proximity before March.

Obviously there is a ton of basketball left before tourney time, but its crazy how quickly things change. 4 MIAA and 3 GAC schools in this bracketology after the NSIC had 5 in the region last year (probably would have gotten 6 if not for the Hays run through Kansas City).

Still probably a few other teams in the league that feel like they have a real shot, too.

A side note, I really hate regionalization haha.

Final month of the regular season starts tonight. An update on where the MIAA stands in addition to the bracketology mentioned above:

                          Massey Ratings as of 2/5:
                          1. Washburn
                          15. Fort Hays State
                          16. Central Missouri
                          23. Missouri Western
                          24. Arkansas-Fort Smith
                          38. Rogers State
                          46. Pittsburg State
                          64. Central Oklahoma
                          73. Northwest Missouri State
                          78. Missouri Southern
                          99. Emporia State
                          103. Northeastern State
                          138. Nebraska-Kearney
                          228. Newman

Full slate tonight (except for WU and UCM). Rogers/MoWest is an interesting one for sure.

Some good finishes around the league tonight. Hays losing back to back games was a surprise, so was Pitt falling at Emporia. Emporia’s production value for their broadcasts, woof. Also credit to MoWest for ending a win on a 16-3 run but Rogers looked awful in the final few minutes.

Hays is struggling to finish games, lost the last 3 and could've won 2 of them for sure against washburn and NE tonight. Did not play well against UCM.
