  • Michigan Tech beats D1 Green Bay

    https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...team-u-comment

This came after Green Bay coach Doug Gottlieb called "weaker" opponents "Nobody U". Green Bay was without its top player, but the program clearly has more problem than that.

Great job by the 7-3 Huskies, for whom the game counted as an exhibition. Green Bay fell to 2-11.

He was drinking out of a can called "Liquid Death." If that is the cause of making totally idiotic and insulting statements, I'll never drink the stuff.

Not a fan of coaches dogging on other programs. I get Doug's a radio guy, but still - no excuse for it.

Very little room to talk as a 2-win team anyway. And he's doubling down on it all too. How UWGB hasn't canned him yet is incredible.

Anyway - that's gotta feel good for the Techies. Congrats on the win!

Always good to see D2 stick it to D1. Even though exhibition, it is an embarrassment to the D1 program. Findlay women beat Wright State a few weeks back. That's a bad look for a Horizon League team.

Agreed. The D1 Southern Illinois Edwardsville Women have lost to D2s Maryville and UMSL so far this season. Missouri State Men escaped with wins over very average GLVC teams Southwest Baptist and Lincoln recently. It's like you said before, lower level D1-mid majors often are overrated compared to D2.
