Did your dream include Nick Curran coming back to do the radio play by play?

So, last night, yours truly dreamed about attending Bellarmine's first D-I hoops game, a road contest in Columbia, MO, at Mizzou.

My guys Moves and Stalker were there. Upon the Knights jumping out to a 4-1 lead, I tried to get a brief "NIT!" chant going.

On a similar note, I meant to post a while back that I dreamed BU announced a slate of non-conference opponents for the initial D-I seasons, and it included Creighton and Kentucky.

I think the cabin fever is getting to me.

Playing safety and wide receiver at 6'7" and 220lbs tells me this guy must be pretty darn athletic.

Glad that Scotty is continuing to get real student athletes. Not at all surprised to see a Manual student with high academic achievement. My granddaughter that is currently a sophomore at BU was a duPont Manual grad. The Manual hallways are crawling with brainy kids! Hope this Eli Roberts kid can turnout to be a real find.

Not sure if anyone else has been to local games and seen him play? Not much footage of him that I could find (although I could just be looking in the wrong places). With the need for size next year it will be interesting to see if he can contribute early on.
Very interesting -- thanks for the scoop. Hoping Scotty got another "steal" in this kid.

From what I read, Roberts was one of the top unsigned guys in the city and is a "high energy" type with good size. Needs to improve the jumper, but apparently been working on that.

That was a great video clip Katie Downey and Mikayla Berry put together. You can see it on the GLVC Twitter page.

    God Bless us all!

Yeah, I'm not predicting first-season NIT anymore, but, like I said, I think a respectable season is possible.

A website that lists conference RPI rankings has the ASUN 25th out of 32 D1 conferences which suggests there are weaker conferences. The OVC comes out lower than the ASUN. I guess if you want to compare two smaller conferences you need to look at head-to-head games between the conference members.

Well, the one saving grace may be the weakness of the ASUN conference when compared to other DI conferences. The combined won loss non-conference record for all 9 teams was 58 wins and 83 losses (only one team, Liberty, had a better than .500 non-conference record), and if you eliminate Liberty's record from the total you get 41 wins and 84 losses for the other 8 teams. I realize that the lower "mid major" conferences are sometimes called upon to be a "punching bag" for a guaranteed pay day, But the ASUN may be the poster boy for that role. I have not done exhaustive research on the other smaller D1 conferences so if anyone has looked at this and thinks this is typical, I'll gladly withdraw my opinion.

Ditto. Ever since the announcement last summer, I've been shooting my mouth off about going to the NIT in the first D-I season.

Our guys did kind of limp into the short-lived post-season, and things in general are just weird for the foreseeable future; but, assuming we get college sports back next academic year, I can still see America's Team(TM) having a solid campaign on the hardwood.

Guess we taking a beating for 2 years with build up to NCAA eligible year.
