So I would assume the Elite 8 in Evansville will not have fans in the stands other than family, but how about the 8 regionals? They will be taking place while the D1 schools are playing their conference tournaments. The Big 10, Big 12 and ACC will be playing their conference tournaments without fans in the stands. I assume the same thing will happen with the D2 regionals, has anyone heard anything on that?

Looks like the NCAA is not going to allow spectators at the tournament.https://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball...ement-limiting

I wouldn't be surprised if they decide in October how many teams from each conference there will be in the tournament. G-MAC could have two teams end the year 30-1 with their only losses being to each other and only one is getting in. But that's cool, at least BU will get a fair shake getting an at-large bid in D1, right?

This is my theory on why the committee selected as they did, again this is a theory and I don't necessarily agree with their decision (although I am thrilled about it!):
Committee had already determined how many teams from each conference going in to the conference tourneys: GLVC was getting five, GLIAC 2 and GMAC 1. From there it was just who got the auto bid for the GLIAC. Now under that theory if Northwood had won, MIT would have been out, although Ferris dropped to 7 from 2 so who knows maybe they would have been out. The rationale of course is that the GLVC was the tougher conference this year.
As for the #1 seed I think Indy had it going in to the tourney. Only way that might have changed is if they had lost first round and UMSL won the tourney.

I also was wondering whether the committee was thinking like a college football bowl game committee, both in the choice of Indy as host and which teams are likely to bring busloads of fans.

Twelve straight trips to the NCAA Tourney -- currently the longest streak in D-II.
Tech will be a challenge, but I like our draw and certainly cannot complain.
Go Knights!

Not a complaint, but an observation: Mich Tech is playing as well as anybody. We r definitely underdogs.

Wow, not too many happy people in Allendale. #4 to out. I guess we take what is given and don't look back. Would NCAA consider attendance $$$ by participants at the D2 level in making their invites??
Go Knights, figure out how to win close games and we could have a path!!

Wow, a 5th seed with first round game against Mich. Tech. UMSL and Truman in the other bracket (of course that leaves Indy in our bracket). That is as good as we could possibly expect. Now if the Knights can just regain some of their early season mojo! Indy is a short drive from Louisville, we can't possibly complain.

It's been a great run in the GLVC for the Knights and I bet the run will continue in your new D1 conference.
I saw the interview/testimony with Parker Chitty-what a great kid! It seems like that is a great group of guys. I would like to see them with another chance in the regional. .

Hats off to all of you. It's been quite a ride the past decade with BU recently stepping into our "archrival" void. You've collectively been some of the best fans on this forum, and I'll miss that. Best of luck to you all in the big leagues! I'm still rooting for GVSU to win, so you may get one more shot at USI... although I'd rather not have to watch you beat us a 3rd time this season!

Looks to me that the loser of the BU-USI game is out of the NCAA if GVSU does not win the GLIAC tournament.
