Always had a high ego and a hot head. Didn't he leave UW when he got in a fight with someone else on the team? Bummer because he was on a nice track after playing at CWU and coaching a Hilo and Skagit Valley. Throwing it all away
Some people are just jerks, McLaughlin one of them. Nine schools in six years, according to the Seattle Times. "No one touches my son" he yells after his son committed an intentional foul. Not a good dude.
Jerks are jerks. I'm a WSU fan and have no problem saying Ryan Leaf is a jerk. After he allegedly turned his life around the last couple years, he was arrested for popping his wife. Some people are just jerks from an early age until they die.
I hope the Judge gives McLaughlin the maximum sentence. If so, he'll turn from bully to wuss once the other inmates find out that he assaulted a 72 year old.
McLaughlin hurts the sport he proclaims to love. Getting refs at any level is difficult these days, a 72-year old guy puts himself out there and gets assaulted by a low-life punk. Officiating organizations nation-wide are scrambling to fill slots. Soon hoop games will have one ref or games will be cancelled because of no officials thanks to losers like McLaughlin.
Video shows his son comes up from behind and whacks the opposing player in the back of the head. Then looks like he says something to make another opposing player come up and shove him to start the scuffle. A referee comes in hot to break it up, and accidentally knocks over Mark's son. He does immediately offer to help him back up. Then here is the thing I just don't get. Mark runs out onto the court and slams a completely different referee to the floor. He is then escorted out by who I assume is the coach.
