  • D2 Celebrities

We talk a lot about D2 players who have gone on to play in the NFL, but what about D2 guys who have gone on to succeed elsewhere?

It's a light-hearted offseason thread, so I'm using the term "D2" loosely. Some of these guys may have played NAIA with a current D2 school, or played D2 with a current FCS school - etc. "Celebrity" is subjective too.

    I'll start with a few:

Terry Funk - Texas A&M Commerce

    Josh Duhamel - Minot State

Isiah Whitlock Jr - Southwest Minnesota State

My bad. Sorry you were looking for former players. Corbin still applies.

If you had a picture of Eva in her Javelina cheerleading outfit it would still count.

This is awesome. He's one of my favorite comedians and now he's even moreso one of my favorite comedians.

Not sure if this changes what you were going for, but when Josh Duhamel was at Minot State they were still NAIA. So technically he didn't play D2 football.

                    Craig T. Nelson.

He flunked out of CWU, then went into acting.

I suppose he is kind of like an in-law. Even if you don't want him you are still stuck with him.

Since Wrestling seems to be the theme, The Junkyard Dog played at Fayetteville State.

Also, WSSU gets to claim everyones favorite (insert sarcasm) sports tv personality Stephen A. Smith (he played bball at WSSU).

I thought Minnesota State was D1 when he was there.

                              Oh, CWU, never mind.
