          This is exactly what you're saying though lol. Replace Angelo...okay then you clearly don't think Angelo should be in.

          MSU didn't get screwed, they didn't do what they needed to secure a spot, simple as that. In any limited participation event, like D2 playoffs or March Madness, there will always be those who were real close to being in and fans like you saying they got screwed. Midwestern played 10 games, one of which didn't count for D2 playoff criteria. So they have 9 games that count compared to 11 for Angelo. MSU was 7-2, Angelo was 9-2. Schedule 11 games and they might be in, that is on no one other than MSU. If they got screwed it was by themselves.

            MSU lost games that were within their control to win
            MSU chose to play an FCS opponent
            MSU only played 10 games

            In the end, they left their playoff hopes in the hands of other people. That's not the fault of other people and their opaque criteria. MSU made choices, MSU played games, MSU missed the playoffs. It may certainly be disappointing, but that's not the same as getting screwed.
